Solution for that is a wrapper that will convert Direct3D 8 calls to something newer. In fact, both of these 'fixes' are discouraged as they do actually slow the game down. With this patch, you also don't need to start the game in compatibility mode or with affinity set to single core.

ItвЂ™s grainy and almost hard to make out whatвЂ™s going on, as this cinematic is hitting twenty years old. Upon startup, you get the usual opening cutscene. However, Max Payne is a whole different story.
